‘Reflecting the commitment of the nursing profession to the people who really matter – the people with diabetes’

Abstract
FEND Chairperson Mrs Anne‐Marie Felton (UK) and her executive and conference organising committees must be proud. With over 500 delegates from 49 countries gathering in Paris, this was the biggest FEND meeting ever. But, as Mrs Felton said during her introduction, the meeting reflected the commitment of the nursing profession to the people who really mattered – the people with diabetes. In addition to the oral presentations there were 37 abstracts presented – all of the usual high quality that we have come to expect from FEND members and their collaborators. As usual, we have attempted to cover as many of these as possible and, as usual, space has forced us to omit a few which, we assure the authors, is no reflection on their quality.
