Overāestimating glycated haemoglobin
Authors
Abstract
Glycated haemoglobin measurement has become increasingly important in the management of diabetes and is often used for diagnostic purposes. Several assays are available for measuring glycated haemoglobin, some of which do not differentiate glycated haemoglobin from fetal haemoglobin. We report a case where this led to an erroneous diagnosis of diabetes.
