Fibrocalculous pancreatic diabetes detected in a British diabetic centre
Authors
Abstract
A patient from St Lucia, resident in the UK for 24 years, was found to have fibrocalculous pancreatic diabetes who had been misdiagnosed as insulin‐dependent diabetes. This case emphasises that British diabetologists dealing with migrant communities should be aware of the possibility of types of diabetes in their patients, indigenous to their country of origin.
