Emphysematous gastritis in association with type 1 diabetes
Authors
Abstract
Emphysematous gastritis is an unusual and severe variant of gastritis characterised by invasion of the stomach wall by gas‐forming bacteria. Poorly controlled diabetes is one of the predisposing conditions for this disorder. We report a fatal case of emphysematous gastritis occurring in a 71‐year‐old man with poorly controlled type 1 diabetes. Copyright © 2010 John Wiley & Sons.
